Cliftonville FC Sign Exciting Forward Brian Healy

Cliftonville Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Brian Healy. The 21-year-old forward joins from Harland & Wolff Welders following an eye-catching start to the Playr-Fit Championship season.

What happened?

After emerging through the ranks of St Oliver Plunkett FC, Brian impressed during his first taste of Premiership football with Newry City before embarking on successful loan stints with Ballyclare Comrades throughout the 2023/24 and 2024/25 campaigns. He signed for the Welders in July of last year and, during his brief stay at Blanchflower Stadium, collected Championship Player of the Month awards in August and November, with the last of his 25 goals coming when he netted four times in Saturday’s victory over Armagh City.

Why it matters for Cliftonville FC

An attacking talent who understandably attracted considerable Premiership interest during the current transfer window, Brian is this evening unveiled as Jim Magilton’s third January recruit and will be part of the Reds squad for Saturday’s Clearer Water Irish Cup fifth round tie with Dundela.

What comes next?

Welcome to Solitude, Brian! Everyone at Cliftonville, meanwhile, offers best wishes to Conor Barr, who has returned to Derry City following the conclusion of his loan. The 20-year-old full back made 13 appearances for the Reds over the first half of the campaign and we thank him for his efforts as he heads back to his parent Club.

As we look ahead to our next fixture, we are excited to see Brian in action. Next fixture: vs Linfield (away, 2026-12-19) (8th in the table).
