Jim Magilton has framed Saturday's trip to Carrick Rangers as a major test of his Cliftonville FC side's character. The manager expects a serious examination of his team's resilience at Taylors Avenue.
A tough ask
Magilton, speaking ahead of the BoyleSports Premiership fixture, acknowledged the challenge posed by the hosts. "They’ve got good players, quality players, experienced players, players that know the League with real quality in their side," he said. He believes the Reds must be ready to compete physically and mentally from the first whistle. "It’s a tough ask but you’ve got to go there and the one thing you’re guaranteed is that they’ll ask you questions, they’ll test your fortitude. They test your resilience."
Building momentum
The fixture is Cliftonville's third away league game of the season. They travel sitting fourth in the Premiership with nine points from five matches, having won three and lost two. Their recent form shows two consecutive victories, including a 3-1 win over Portadown last weekend where Ben Healy scored twice. The full run of results, including the upcoming fixtures, shows a team looking to build consistency.
Ticket details
Adult admission for the match is priced at £15, with concessions available for £10. Family ticket deals are also on offer, including a package for two adults and two under-16s costing £40. A full breakdown of the squad's contributions so far this season is available on our stats page.
Cliftonville's next league assignment after this weekend is an away match against third-placed Linfield on December 19th, a fixture they lost 1-0 earlier in the campaign.
