Cliftonville FC concluded their pre-season programme with a convincing 9-0 win against Crumlin United. The match saw Rhyss Campbell shine as he scored twice, contributing significantly to his team's victory.
The game began with Ryan Curran opening the scoring after just 11 minutes. His goal came from a well-executed shot that found its way into the bottom corner following good work by Liam McStravick. The Reds doubled their lead shortly thereafter when McStravick’s pass set up Campbell for his first goal of the evening, putting Cliftonville in control.
Campbell continued to impress as he netted again from a free-kick, making it 4-0 despite Crumlin United's efforts. A bizarre moment saw Bayo Fapetu scoring an own goal after hesitating at the last second, allowing him to walk into his own net and add to Cliftonville’s tally.
The final two goals came from Joe Gormley and Rory Hale, ensuring a comprehensive win for Cliftonville. The match concluded with 88 minutes on the clock due to an injury to a Crumlin player, who was treated on the field but able to walk off under his own power.
